Question 1
Select one of the Healthy People 2020 educational objectives, and propose an education program for the at-risk population that you have selected to assist them in meeting that objective. Include the educational principles, educational issues, educational process including teaching strategies and evaluation procedures you would use.

Using your previous research on your at-risk population, analyze a current health issue that this population experiences.
1. Research the epidemiological data on this health issue (state health department statistics, CDC, WHO or similar organizations who might have statistical data on the health issue).
2. Investigate the primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention interventions that relate to this health issue. Which of these are available in your community?
3. Determine ways in which nursing can improve the effectiveness of these prevention activities related to the health issue.
4. Utilize three to five scholarly references besides your text to give evidence about the preventive measures utilized for the health issue.
Submit the information to dropbox. The information should be typed using the numbered items as the headers for the information. You must have 3-5 pages (not including a reference page) and at least 2 scholarly references in addition to the textbook and 2 citations.

Initiating, monitoring, and evaluating resources are essential components of nursing practice in the community and public health nursing practice. Analyze a client situation and the case management process that might occur in the following practices:
a)School nurse in an elementary school and in a high school
b)Occupational health nurse in a hospital and in a manufacturing plant
c)Nurse working in a well-child clinic

As a suggestion to get you started, take a health issue such as an outbreak of head lice in the elementary school which is traced back to a child who comes in chronically unkempt. What resources would be available to assist, and in what way would the case management process assist with the situation? This is only a suggestion to which other elements from the assignment need to be added.

Schedule a shadowing experience with one of the following: an occupational health nurse, a public health nurse, school nurse, family nurse practitioner or emergency department nurse for a minimum of four hours.
1.Observe their activities.
2.Determine which of the activities are community-oriented.
3.Ascertain what resources in the community the nurse utilizes.
4.Submit a reflective journal of the experience that contains the following elements:
a.Where you did the shadowing (use the nurses first name and credentials) and what the job role is of the person that you shadowed
b.Your impression of the job role and the activities that you observed the nurse performing.
c.How did the job fit into community orientation?
d.Respond to items 2 and 3 above..
e.What were the positive and negative aspects of the job?
f.What other roles/activities could you see the nurse performing that would be community based and assist the patient to better health?
The reflective journal should be a 3 5 page paper (APA format) not including the reference page responding to the question(s) above in first person general narrative form as a Word document. You must have at least 2 scholarly references in addition to the textbook and 2 citations.
