D‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍NP Virtual Residency | Poster Instructions Please create your poster in PowerPoint using the Chatham University Poster Template provided (keep as one page). The size has been set to 48”W x 36”H (landscape), and the content requirements are the same as for a printed poster. It is imperative that you do not change the sizing of the poster template (as if to print) or you will lose some formatting. Additionally, please keep the background white and “INSERT” text boxes, images, charts, graphs etc. The font needs to be large! For example, the title may be as large as 80 to 100-point font and the content text may be 30 to 40-point font. The minimum font size should be 24-point (perhaps for references). Poster Content: An informative poster will convey your message visually and be organized logically. Many students want to know what sections or headings need to be on the poster. The poster is very individualized; however, here are suggested headings* to get started (e.g. headings for separate text boxes): • Clinical problem • PICO question that guided the literature review • Background of problem • Literature review summary • Implementation plans • Projected outcomes & plan for evaluation of outcomes • Project Timeline • Underlying theory and EBP model utilized • Plan for dissemination of findings • Impact on local, state, or federal policy • Interprofessional collaboration efforts • Use of technology *Please note, if you do not include every heading, still be prepared to speak to the topic. ‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍Poster Instructions: Dr. Hunker has created a short interactive presentation to pull together the content explained above into a visual “how-to” tutorial for building your Residency poster. Even though this video refers to a printed poster, the content instructions remain relevant to a virtual poster. To view the presentation, please see the separate link in the Residency block on the NSS. Helpful Hints: • The layout is critical to understanding your story; make sure it flows. • The poster should represent your personality. • Your title is important; short, sharp and compelling; the title is located across the top of the poster. • You can leverage tables, graphs and images to make the poster visually appealing. • You should include references on the poster. However, if there is not room on the poster, you can upload as a separate Word document in Moodle.
