Learning Goal: I’m working on a business case study and need support to help me learn.Read the first two cases in the Tanglewood Case Book PDF. Using Chapter 3 in the textbook as a reference, create an HR planning analysis for the Tanglewood stores in Washington (more details on page 13 of the PDF). Utilize the information given to you in the case study to create a report with each of the following 5 components: 1. Labor requirements forecasting 2. Labor availabilities forecasting 3. Environmental scan 4. Gap identification 5. Action plan development. Your analysis should be in the format of a business report with a cover sheet, an executive summary, a background of the report explaining any techniques you used to gain insight, the main body of the report with a subheading for each of the 5 components, and a conclusion section with your recommendations for the Staffing Services Director of Tanglewood, Daryl Perrone. Include at least 1 tool or procedure that was covered in class based on the data presented in the case study in your analysis (ratio analysis, trend analysis, succession planning, replacement chart, or adverse impact analysis using the 80% rule). Executive SummaryThis report goes through Tanglewood’s background information as well as a detailed HR planning analysis to determine how to create an efficient way to staff additional stores. SAY MORE HEREBackground Tanglewood is a retail store where they sold clothing and appliances for people who loved nature and being outdoors. It was founded in 1975 and quickly rose to popularity. Due to this, the store was able to expand in the 1990s. Leading the founders to become the CEOs and hire regional managers for their stores. Due to the opening of multiple stores, Tanglewood wanted to reevaluate their HR practices such as staffing by making sure they have employees who are committed and whose values align with the company’s original mission. FINISHLabor Requirements Forecasting Using a ratio analysis will help determine the number of full time employees Tanglewood requires for staffing. This can be found by using the operating revenue and dividing that number by the revenue growth to determine how many full time employees will be needed. It would be 7,200 million divided by the 13.1% increase which would be 943200000. This would equal about 76.35 and rounding up, HR requirements would be 77 full time employees. FINISHLabor Availabilities ForecastingTanglewood wants to make sure that their organization is moving smoothly, which means that they need to forecast for availability in future positions. An effective way to do this would be considering replacement planning. Tanglewood’s organizational values allows employees to make suggestions and contribute to the operation. This method of planning helps to focus on employees who may be considered for promotions.
