For all calculations, use a Manning’s n value of 0.013 as specified in the city spec.
Part 1 (10 pts)
Create a Data Table with at least 20 points, covering the full range of water depth from 0.001 to the full pipe diameter, and showing the resulting Q (flow in cfs). Create an XY Plot of the Data Table rating curve, and label both axes with a description and the units.
Part 2 (10 pts)
Create a PDF book, of rating curve plots (from Part 1), for every pipe diameter listed in Table 9-1. Minimum Slopes (Links to an external site.), and for five slope values for each pipe diameter: the minimum as listed in the table, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, and 2%. That’s a total of 35 charts (7 diameters X 5 slope values). The title of the chart should specify the Pipe Diameter and Slope. You could make them by hand and combine all the pdf pages, but that’s kind of missing the point and a waste of your time and mine. Instead, create a Subroutine to cycle through each of the values and copy out the chart.
Upload your Excel file and the 35-page PDF book for grading.
