Part I
A. Find & interview a licensed Mental Health Counselor (i.e., someone who has
completed their masters degree and/or PhD & is currently working as a counselor).
This person can be a counselor, marriage and family therapist or psychologist. You
cannot interview a psychiatrist or other medical doctor.
The interview can be conducted in person (i.e., face to face, Face Time, Skype, etc.)
or by phone.
Use the provided Counselor Interview Template (the questions you are to ask in
your interview) found on the next page. Following this template will ensure you
cover all the questions you need to ask.
Part II
A. Take the information you learned from your interview & write it down in the
form of a short paper/report.
[Minimum length: 2.5 – 3 pages, double spaced]
When you write your report of your interview, do so in narrative (i.e., essay)
form. Do NOT write out each question & then underneath it, write the answer. This
is NOT narrative form & you will lose 10 points for not using narrative form. Use
paragraphs. Papers need to be in APA format.

Part III
Submit a brief description of your interview in the discussion area. You can find the
requirements for the discussion there.
