CONSULTING REPORT TEAM PORTION:
Experiential Exercise #2
Purpose:
To review the results of EE 1 and plan next steps.
Deliverables:
Agenda for second client contact.
· Specific tasks to be completed (over the next week or two) by team members, regarding environmental research.
· A summary of the results of the client interview and research conducted to date.
· After client contact, fill out the Consulting Proposal, updating the original SOW if necessary, and send to the client for approval and a signature.*
*Note: On the Consulting Proposal form is a place for your team to agree with the client on the date, time, and venue (Zoom or live) for your final consulting presentation. Please fill this in before submitting it along with your other deliverables. You will not get credit for EE 2 unless this part is done.
· Collect the Confidentiality Agreement from the client; if he/she prefers to authorize it with an email (rather than signing, scanning, and sending it to you as an email attachment, have him say he/she is aware of the contents of the agreement and accepts them. Copy and paste the date and contents of this email onto a Word document and submit it with the Confidentiality Agreement as “Confidentiality Agreement Attachment.”
· Post a summary of these results (bullet outlines are acceptable) under “Experiential Exercise 2” on the course platform. Don’t forget to post the date and time of the planned final presentation to the client, even though it is already on the Consulting Proposal form
Process:
1. Review the results and learnings from the first client interview; review results of research to date.
2. Team decides what additional information is needed, next steps, and who should do what…
a. Decide the purpose and deliverables of the next client interaction. It is likely that detailed questions about the client’s operations will come up as a result of the client interview and research.
b. Even if there were no additional questions (an unlikely event), a meeting with the client should occur, in which the team’s appraisal of “the problem” or “opportunity” is tested. In this case, be as focused as possible.
3. After making client contact, fill out the Consulting Proposal, updating the original SOW if necessary, and send to the client for approval and signature.
4. Team members submit the results of this week’s work to the team leader.
5. Team leader organizes these materials and posts them to Canvas under “Experiential Exercise 2.”
6. Deliverables for posting results of this exercise on the course learning platform:
a. Agenda for second client contact (if any)
b. Summaries of results: Client interview, research findings
c. Tasks to be performed by individual team members related to environmental research for the coming week
7. Post the above deliverables* on Canvas under “Experiential Exercise 2.”
*Note: Remember, bullet outlines are acceptable.
8. When you have received the client’s signed Confidentiality Agreement and Consulting Proposal, post these in Canvas under “Consulting Proposal and Confidentiality Agreements,” the link for which can be found under Lesson 4. (If you do not have these by the due date of Experiential Exercise 2, post the other materials from Steps 1-7 to EE 2 anyway. Sometimes the clients do not get them back in time for the EE 2 due date.)
