Conduct a strategic case study analysis of an organization
(preferably hospitality) in the UAE. You will need to have access to
individuals and resources within the target organization; this analysis cannot
be properly undertaken by relying solely on published material (e.g. websites,
annual reports). The analysis should reflect independent thought and not simply
a book-report style rehash of the organization’s practices. The paper will
include a one-page single-spaced Executive Summary highlighting the major
points of the paper. The executive summary explains the purpose of the paper,
the organizational context, why this specific research was conducted, research
methods used, main findings, main recommendations, and conclusions reached.
For this assignment, please follow these steps:
1. Provide a brief overview of the organization.
2. Identify and analyze the firm’s existing vision, mission
and values statements.
3. Identify/analyze the organization’s objectives
4. Identify/analyze
the organization’s business strategy.
5. Analyze the external environment and identify the organization’s
external opportunities and threats.
6. Analyze the
company’s internal environment by identifying its internal resources and
capabilities, applying value chain analysis and using the VRIO framework.
7. Identify the major
strategic issues and challenges that the organization should address.
8. Formulate and
recommend specific corporate strategies for implementation, in order of
priority, and present their advantages and disadvantages. These will depend on
the organization’s specific circumstances and may involve business level
strategies (cost leadership and product differentiation), corporate strategies
(vertical integration, strategic alliances, diversification, merger or
acquisition, other international strategies).
9. Suggest how your recommendations should be implemented,
including any requirement to reorganize, and state what results you expect.
10. Identify the cost implications of your recommendations,
where feasible, and present a cost benefit analysis.
11. Outline an agenda
and timetable for action
