Task

This task requires you to:

• choose a healthy recipe

• adjust the recipe to cater for the number of customers you will be expecting to serve*

• calculate the cost of purchasing the ingredients used in the recipe.

• your dish must not cost more than $15 a serving and you must not exceed this budget.

• your recipe must include vegetables and at least one of the following ingredients:

• red meat

• poultry

• fish/seafood

• eggs

• nuts/seeds

• legumes/beans.

• Investigate the nutritional value of the meal you are providing by recording the percentages (grams per 100 grams) for protein, total fat, carbohydrates, dietary fibre and sodium. The data should be recorded on a spreadsheet and then displayed in a suitable graph

• you will compile a report that outlines the recipe, your modifications and just how healthy your meal choice is.  

• You will communicate your findings:

 by explaining your mathematical reasoning, providing reasons for the choices you make

 making decisions about the concepts, techniques and technology you will use to develop a solution
