Foundations of Marketing – Week 5 Assignment
Ethics and Pricing
People feel better when they think they are getting a great bargain when they shop. Knowing this, some retailer’s markup items above the traditional retail price and then offer a 60 percent discount. If they had simply discounted the normal retail price by 20 percent, the resulting “sale price” would have been the same. One retailer says that he is just making shoppers happy that they got a great deal when he inflates the retail price before discounting.

Significantly marking up prices in order to offer “deep discounts” is not an unethical pricing practice per se, but it may be considered misleading advertising. The retailer is not really reducing its profits as a result of offering the sale price, even though a 60 percent discount implies a financial sacrifice on the part of the retailer for the benefit of the customer.

The situation described above could, perhaps, be considered a sales promotion that uses deception or manipulation.

As a consumer think of a place you like to shop at because of the so-called great bargains, coupons, cash back and or discounts they offer.

From your shopping experience explain if the discounts you received on your purchase you feel was a bargain deal or do you feel you overpaid.

Did you believe the retailer is sacrificing revenue for you the consumers’ benefit?

Why or Why not?

Do you find their sales practices to be ethical and beneficial to the consumer or perhaps unethical and misleading?

The requirements below must be met for your paper to be accepted and graded:

Reference material (data, dates, graphs, quotes, paraphrased words, values, etc.) must be identified in the paper and listed on a reference page.Written Self Critique – cardboard sphere
I don’t know how to handle this Art & Design question and need guidance.

A critique is an oral or written discussion strategy used to analyze, describe, and interpret works of art. Critiques help students hone their persuasive oral and writing, information-gathering, and justification skills.

Write a one page maximum critique of your recently finished project using the below sample set of focus questions for the written self critique of your assignment project. There are four major areas of art criticism: description, analysis, interpretation, judgment.

Begin the document with your name, project name, and a title of the work (if given).

Description

Describe the work without using value words such as “beautiful” or “ugly”:
What is the written description on the label or in the program about the work? What is the title and who is (are) the artist(s)? When and where was the work created? Describe the elements of the work (i.e., line movement, light, space). Describe the technical qualities of the work (i.e., tools, materials, instruments). Describe the subject matter. What is it all about? Are there recognizable images?
Analysis

Describe how the work is organized as a complete composition:
How is the work constructed or planned (i.e., materials, techniques, processes)? Identify some of the similarities throughout the work (i.e., repetition of line, pattern, shape). Identify some of the points of emphasis in the work (i.e., focal point, movement, favorite part). If the work has subjects or characters, what are the relationships between or among them? How skillfully has the work been executed?
Interpretation

Describe how your work makes you think or feel:
Describe the expressive qualities you find in the work. What expressive language would you use to describe the qualities (i.e., tragic, ugly, funny)? Does the work remind you of other things you have experienced (i.e., analogy or metaphor)? How does the work relate to other ideas or events in the world and/or in your other studies?
Judgment or Evaluation

Present your honest opinion of your end work’s success or failure:
What qualities of the work make you feel it is a success or failure? Compare it with similar works that you think are good or bad. What would you do differently if you would do it all over again? How original is the work? Why do you feel your work is original or not original?mac1105 assignments: my nursing assignment help

Consider the perspectives you have studied in this unit. Choose one of the following three prompts and respond to it in 500-700 words:1. In your opinion, does pornography promote violence against women? Explain your answer.2. Does it make sense for the United States to follow the example of other democracies as it tries to help older Americans, or is the United States different enough from these nations that a different approach is warranted? Explain.3. Is the “war on drugs” the appropriate response to drug use, or is it doing more harm than good? Defend your perspective.

Formatting & Other Guidelines:

Be sure to incorporate at least 3 scholarly references! You may use the textbook as one of your sources, if you like.

Use APA formatting. You do not need an abstract, however.

Remember to include a References page at the end and use in-text citations!Cross Contour
Need help with my Art & Design question – I’m studying for my class.

Find 3-5 simple objects to draw, such as fruit or vegetables. Set them up on a table in an arrangement.

Step #1: On your 14″ x 17″ paper practice drawing cross contours of the objects with your HB and 4B or 6B pencils. Draw the contour lines, then the cross contour lines as you imagine to describe the form of the objects. Pull the lines in toward the stems and ends of the fruit for a more three-dimensional effect. Once you are satisfied with the lines you retrace the lines and darken them with your 4B or 6B pencils.

Here is a scale that explains the pencil hardnesses. The harder the pencil in the “H” range the lighter the pencil will mark. The softer the pencil in the “B” range the darker the pencil will mark. An HB is the equivalent of the #2 pencil.

Step #2: Once you are comfortable drawing the objects on your practice drawing, try it again on your either your 14″ x 17″ or 18″ x 24″ paper. Consider how the objects are arranged in space, such as distance apart from each other and overlapping. Try to have the objects arranged, so that they are not too evenly spaced or symmetrical on the paper. Represent them in their natural space to show the space of how they are sitting on the table.

Remember to take a 1/2 way photo and include a name/date card placed outside of the frame of the drawing of the final drawing.
