Over the course of the semester, you will be compiling a listening journal
(12 entries in Part A, 12 entries in Part B). For each module, you are recommended to choose two musical works from the listening list. Grading Criteria:
Complete – Provides song title, album (if applicable), performing artist, and year of recording. Student provides a short (3-6 sentence) paragraph of discourse. Examples of things to write about: what musical elements are heard, personal connection to a song (what does the student like or dislike about this recording), the cultural context of the work’s importance, etc.
Incomplete – Does not satisfy requirements for “complete”. Please resubmit.
