This is a little background on my experience.
I am a certified CPR instructor and taught CPR
to the community of people who were interested.
My experience while teaching was comfortable for
me as I used to teach medical assisting and I teach at a local university here
in Ohio as adjunct faculty.
Teaching the CPR course was very comfortable
being in front of the people who were taking the course. They all seem to
participate well for the most part,
more females seem to be interested in the
CPR that had children were as males seem to be less interested in taking the
course. I tried to keep them as
interested as possible and to keep the course
interactive so that they can learn the skills that they need to save a life. I
used video presentation as well as
skills. Furthermore at the end gave a paper
test to test their knowledge on the topic at hand. Overall I felt calm and
prepared. However time management
it’s some thing that I always know I need to
improve on. Also I was not expecting as good as turn out and did not have
enough supplies. I ended up having
to break it up into two sections so that I
can get everyone certified.
I used the BLS videos and booklet if you need to look that up, also I had my own manikins and AED as well as materials according to the AHA regulations
