Your readings will provide you with good background information regarding educational models and approaches to meet the needs of the self-directed learner. You should be able to compare and contrast the findings from the various authors. Additionally, content from this module should allow you to generate ideas regarding the generalizability of authors’ ideas and concepts.
Case 3 Assignment:
1.Read all of the Background materials. As you read the articles, focus on the main points the authors make. Pay particular attention to the authors’ conclusions. Also, concentrate on the recommendations they offer for educators when addressing self-directed adult learners.
2.You are still in your role as an educational consultant with the same client (an educational institution specializing in delivering courses to adults). Now you must address your client’s concerns regarding how best to teach self-directed learners. In addition, your client wants your opinion regarding any generalizable self-directed learning concepts that can be used across disciplines.
3.To accomplish this task, please write 2- to 3-page analysis that compares and contrasts the findings from the three authors Cunningham, Hains, and Hays.
You must specifically address the two points below:
a.Use your understanding of educational models to compare and contrast different approaches to instructing self-directed learners. Focus on recommendations that your client can implement.
b.Determine if there are some approaches to teaching self-directed learners that are generalizable across different contexts. Specifically state what your ideas are and include in-text citations from the articles by Cunningham, Hains, and/or Hays to justify your opinions and conclusions.
