SECTION 1: THE ORGANIZATION
This section focuses on your selected organization and should include the following:
1. The organization selected and why you selected it.
2. A detailed descriiption of the organization including:
a. Name and history of the organization
b. Type of organization; i.e. team, facility, manufacturer
SECTION 2: CURRENT STATUS OF THE ORGANIZATION
This section will discuss the current status of the organization including:
1. Win-Loss record (if applicable)
2. Attendance and/or usage
3. Market status: leader, growth, decline
4. Opportunities for growth
5. Products/product line (if applicable)
SECTION 3 CURRENT FINANCIAL STATUS OF THE ORGANIZATION
This section will focus on the financial status of the organization
Include the following:
1. Current revenue in dollars
2. Current profitability of organization
3. Sources of income
a. Ticket (product sales)
b. Other income (facility rental, etc.)
c. Sponsorship
d. Advertising (list only if a source of income)
e. Merchandise
f. Media rights
g. Other sources of income: list ALL possible sources: for example: parking,
concessions
SECTION 4: REVENUE ENHANCEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
This section will address how you propose to enhance the revenue of your organization
1. Address each source of revenue individually
2. List specifically how you plan to increase revenue
Example: a team might increase ticket sales through advertising, pricing, etc.
a sporting goods manufacturer may increase sales by offering a new product
3. List as many options as possible. However, they must be reasonable and feasible.
Example: don’t propose increasing ticket sales for a team that already sells out every
game.
4. Creativity counts. Most teams are very good at generating revenue. You will HAVE to be
creative.
5. A projection of how much revenue each new proposal will generate
FORMAT
The portfolio should consist of the following:
1.A written version of the proposal
2.Power point slides detailing your proposed actions and revenues.
GRADING
Your grade will be based on the following:
1. Details in all sections
2. Number of different proposals
3. Creativity (Hint: you will have to be good….I’ve seen a LOT)
4. Feasibility
5. Amount of potential dollars generated (scale of the organization will be factored)
6. Spelling and grammar
7. Quality of slide presentation
