Well, I think module 3 has been one of my favorites so far. It definitely has a more modern feel to it because it deals with technological industries (i.e. gaming, Hollywood, and television) compared to the earlier modules that went over the earliest books and magazines. Now, those chapters were really interesting because it provides perspective of where humans came from as far as communication. But this module feels like I am getting the inside scoop on industries I actively participate in and feels like I will actually be able to use this knowledge once I get out of college. My favorite part of this class may be getting the global perspective of these industries versus just how America interacts with them. It is nice to learn about how different countries interact and form bonds over things as trivial as entertainment. Also Nickleodeon quite literally blew my mind- I mean growing up I was familiar with the cable network Nickleodeon but never would I have thought the word would come from the earlier 1900’s and literally means the price of admissions- this is gonna be my fun fact at parties now.
