The final draft of the essay, due the day of the final exam, runs 5

Throughout this project, take full advantage of all that you
learned from writing the research paper for English 101.
First, select from our syllabus a poem/short story/piece of drama
that you would like to work with. Then suggest in an email to me
by April 27th
([email protected]
) a possible topic that vou would like to explore. Remember that
this is to be a literary analysis and that you will be arguing to
convince our reader.
Once you have selected from our list of poetry or short fiction or
drama readings this semester one selection that you would like
to work with and have submitted that to me with a suggested
approach, please see my comments that will follow.
Be sure to focus on what will you be trying to prove. This will be
your claim. Remember that this is to be an argumentative paper
in which you will state your claim and then prove it using sound
reasoning, analysis, and appropriate textual support along with
key quotes from a minimum of 5 to 7 outside (secondary)
sources.
Usually the best way to approach this is to pose it as a question.
