In Wisconsin there are a total of 12 reported hate groups. There were a couple of hate groups that sttod out to me. The first one was a hate group that goes by the name “The Proud Boys!” This hate group adamantly deny any connection to the racist “alt-right.” Instead, they insist they are simply a fraternal group spreading an “anti-political correctness” and “anti-white guilt” agenda. The Proud Boys stage frequent rallies around the counrty. Many have descended into violent street riots where members openly brawl with counter protesters.
Another hate group that stood out to me is called “New Order” and is a Neo-Nazi group. They engage in white power accelerations. This form of acceleration sees terroristic violence as the sole method for ushering in the collapse of modern civilization, so a fascist society grounded in white ethnonationalism can take its place.
In regards to lessening their impact, I would say that we pay them no attention. I wouldn’t even know that these organizations existed. Sure, I am greatful that I now know that there are groups in my neighborhood that consist of hateful individuals who want to inflict harm on other people because of their skin color or sexual preference; however, I believe the less attention they recieve the faster they will fade away. The hate group New Order is already starting to fade away with little engagement. Although, I think it is important to educate ourselves about these organizations, yet give them the least recognition possible. The Proud Boys are known for getting into brawls with counter protesters, but there wouldn’t be any brawls if people who disagree with them did not show up to engage with them or give them any attention. I believe the police should handle them if they physically attack innocent citizens. I do not agree with any group founded in racism, or violence; however, I believe everyone should have the right to believe in their own cause. If they want to rally in their own communities and homes peacefully without causing harm to others, that is thier right. Another way to lesson their impact is by teaching our children and neighbors to love people regardless of skin color or one’s sexual preference.

In the state of Delaware we have 4 hate groups. Those four groups are Anti-Muslim, General hate group, Antisemitism, and the white nationalist. The Anti-Muslim hate groups activities vary . From publishing Islamophobic content and trying to put a halt to Muslim immigration resettlement programs. Another thing that this hate group does is try to stop the construction of mosques. Then you have the White Nationalist, White nationalist organizations promote white supremacist or white separatist views, frequently emphasizing on nonwhites’ claimed inferiority. They are actually responsible for most hate crime in the United States. They commit many crimes including murder . One guy walked into a grocery store and killed 10 random people of color, because of the color of their skin. When he was done these murders he took to the Internet stating that the white supremacy takes credit for those peoples deaths.Things that I feel should be done to stop these crimes are to honestly lock people up for being in gangs. Noone should hate anyone or feel it’s right to commit murder just because they don’t like a persons religion or skin tone.

As of 2021, there were 35 different hate groups found in New York state. Some of these groups included anti-Muslim, anti LGBTQ, antisemitism, and white nationalist. One of the largest hate groups that formed is the anti-Muslim. Especially after the 9/11 terrorist attack, anti-muslim groups have developed a theory that all Muslims are a subversive threat to the nation. Some activities performed by these hate groups include posting/sharing Islamophobic content, holding demonstrations and conferences, and even challenging the construction of mosques (place of prayer for Muslims). The prevelance of these hate groups dropped from 72 in 2020 to 50 in 2021. This was mainly due to the inactivity of some of the larger anti-Muslim groups.
One way we can lessen the impact of anti-Muslim groups on communities and/or the society as a whole is to allow Muslims to have a voice, and ensure them that these injustices will not go unseen. Many of these groups have influenced the way others view Muslims, without even understanding the true meaning of hate crime. By letting Muslims have a voice, the society can grasp an understanding from their perspective and begin to recognize that what these groups have been saying and doing is wrong.
