In this course, you will use the knowledge and skills gained to create a Technical Report. You will work on this project in Modules 4 through 6. For this report, you will conduct secondary research on a tool or technology of your choosing and provide a clearly articulated, strong recommendation about whether or not to use that tool or technology in a hypothetical organization.
1st Step (Due: June 17 02:00 PM) Outline Memo:
You will select a tool or technology that you would like to research and review for a hypothetical organization. Select a tool or technology that is robust enough to sustain the Technical Report Project. After you have identified your tool, you will provide the following in a memo (between 250 and 300 words) to your instructor.
The tool or technology
Your hypothetical organization
Your hypothetical organization’s field and/or goals
Upon submission, your instructor may provide you with suggestions or helpful information about the selected tool or technology. Be sure to incorporate this feedback into your draft and final submissions.
Rubric:
1. Mechanics and Style: Is the memo free of grammatical and mechanical errors? Does the memo use appropriate syntax, diction, word choice, and vocabulary?
2. Following Instructions: How well does the memo respond to and interact with the specific assignment instructions? Does the memo clearly communicate a technical report topic.
3. Formatting: Does the memo utilize the required memo format?
2nd Step (Due: June 26 02:00 PM) Final Submission & Reflecsion:
You will submit the final draft of your Technical Report. The Technical Report must:
Utilize Tebeaux and Dragga’s “Formal Report” format.
Cite at least six (6) sources using proper APA formatting.
Provide a clear and strong recommendation for or against the use of the tool or technology.
Be at least 1,500 words.

3rd Step (Due: June 26 02:00 PM) Final Submission & Reflecsion:
Reflection: You will write a 75-100-word reflection letter that describes your understanding of the primary stylistic and document design issues at stake in your technical report. The letter should:
Describe how you plan to address issues of style and design in your report.
Provide specific tangible actions you will take in writing your report.
Rubric:
1. Format: How well does the letter apply the standard format?
2. Description: How well does the letter describe the topic? How thorough, detailed, and accurate is the description?
3. Reflection: How well does the letter reflect on the topic? How meaningful, thorough, or nuanced is the reflection? Does the reflection make clearly articulated claims, reference specific examples in support of its claims, and explain the meaning of its claims and examples?
4. Mechanics and Style: Is the letter free of grammatical and mechanical errors? Does the letter use appropriate syntax, diction, word choice, and vocabulary?
