^ where it talks about engaging with clients this essay is on my internship agency and the clients are the population that my agency serves you will kind of make up if you were to engage and do engagement with the particular client in the population that my agency serves and answer the question using that population. The information on my agency in a population we serve is in the file section please please please be sure that you read the bio section and understand what my agencies about and what clients we serve if you have further questions on that reach out to me for more understanding and elaboration. (Victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, elderly violence, interpersonal violence, family violence, abuse, neglect, etc…) again look in the files section.

Professors notes for further clarification on what she is looking for:
• you are really going to focus your particular paper here on how you engage clients and the skills you use.
• your job is to explain how you prepared for engagement with clients and the skills you used to engage.
• provide a plan for how you will continue to improve engagement with diverse clients.
• I wanted to point out that in this particular setting we work with a lot of clients, individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities, and it takes a different subset of skills to work with each of these particular groups.
• I want you to look at this particular paper as you are engaging with individuals, that’s your client, you are welcome to reflect on and engage the families or groups but I want this paper to be strictly about your engagement with individuals/clients. (This is again the population my Internship serves that’s in the file section)
• it’s important here that you are really able to demonstrate that each and every time you engage or interact in someway with your clients that you are valuing those human relationships, you are sharing with that individual you are understanding theories of human behavior in the social environments.”
• if you reflect back on to your human behavior and social environment courses of social work these are the courses where you learn several theories and some very broad like system theories and personal environment theories some of them much more specific like feminist theory, critical race theory but think of a particular theory and theoretical perspective that you practice with that will help you Engage with your particular individuals. If you were looking for an a level paper (which I am) then I suggest you look for a particular theory and theoretical perspective that can be related to this (the attachment theory!!!)
• The knowledge base that you should have, you’ll see that applying the knowledge of human behavior and social environment that is critical and important to understanding this particular Competency. I recognize in order to engage you’ve got to use a variety of skills, things that are listed in the competency column 1.
• using things like empathy, reflection, interpersonal skills all of this are things that you do when you actively engage and ask questions and use active listening. We have to think about how we’re being prepared. Which is what this particular assignment is asking you to do. Going back to explaining how you’re prepared.
• so everything you’re working on is preparing you to be that professional interviewer, that particular person that a client comes to, to express what their concerns are and seek assistance in resolving their concerns and help you to be able to engage with your clients.
• so in summary, what I want you to do for this particular assignment is to review column one make sure you fully understand all the competencies here that are required for you to be able to effectively engage with individuals, families, organizations, groups, and communities.
• you are probably going to want to use a reference or two and I suggest that if you want an a level paper that you do. You’d also be strongly encouraged to discuss that theoretical perspective (ATTACHMENT THEORY) that you use to prepare yourself to engage with individuals/clients. Most importantly I want you as we have done in other assignments to reflect and critically analyze the process and the skills that you have started to use to engage individuals and finally, I want you to share your plan for continuing learning that will not only improve your skills as someone in this engagement process but your skills as a professional social worker.
