Learning Goal: I’m working on a geography and need to help me learn.Provide possible reasons why two days at the exact same time might have different values for shortwave and longwave radiation (and, hence, different net radiation). Review the lab lecture and/or conduct internet research to help explain this. To get started, think about the effect of clouds during the day on the amount of shortwave and/or longwave radiation? How would temperature affect these values? What about the time of year (e.g., summer vs. winter)? Based on the data given, would time of year be relevant? You can also look at real-time data (as long as the station’s site is working) for additional guidance. For example, if you know one day is cloudy and the next day is sunny, take a look at the different radiation values.
