The aim of the task is for students to explore sports communication from an audience perspective, a fundamental element in public relation campaign strategy formulation. Students engage in primary and secondary research to examine either a sports event or sports personality across diverse traditional and online media platforms. The essay follows requisites of academic writing and expression. Question: Define the relationship between Public Relations and Sports. Explore the relative concepts in detail ensuring that you cover issues relating to relationship management, communication strategies and publics. Consider at least two communication theories. Evaluate and analyse how these theories can be applied within sports PR practice. Give specific examples using a variety of sports and or sporting organisations as a point of reference. Consider sports fandom, audience perception of sporting events, personalities and other stakeholders.
