To restate this issue: According to Horsman and Barrera Mexicans had their ancestral lands stolen, suffered under racist legal systems, abject violence, and were catapulted to the lower levels of society in the southwest during the 19th century. In light of this historical institutionalized discrimination, does America today (2022) owe “anything” to this group? Again, your thesis must address the points raised by Horsman, Barrera, and your three selected outside sources, and of course, you must clearly respond if you support or do not support “compensation/reparations.”
