Album Review 9 – HEEEEE Heeee, Shammooona. Week 9’s album has been a class favorite in the past, because this week we are reviewing “Thriller” by Michael Jackson. This is the biggest selling album in the world, and of the nine tracks that are included on the album, seven were released as singles, and five went to number 1 on the billboard charts. That is quite an accomplishment. I’m pretty sure most of you will be familiar with the hits, but even the B-sides are amazing on this album. What I also love about this album is how racially and musically diverse it is. Michael and Quincy Jones were at the helm, but they brought in many different musicians from different musical backgrounds to make this record, and the result is an album that has many musical flavors (from R&B and Funk to Rock and African inspired World Music). I think you will enjoy this one, unless you hate Michael Jackson, and in that case, you’ll probably still be won over. This is a classic. Enjoy.
