To be clear, there are 4 separate parts to this report:
1. analysis memo of sample presentations
2. analysis memo of sample handouts
3. PowerPoint presentation for the case analysis
4. one-page handout for the case analysis
Part 1. Instructions for Analysis memo of sample presentations:
Analyze PowerPoint presentations. Using the sample PowerPoint presentations provided(see sample powerpoint presentations attached file), do the following:
-Identify the best and worst presentations.
-Write a brief one- to two-page memo explaining in detail why you chose the presentations as best and worst. Make sure you look at elements discussed in the readings such as layout and design, typography, graphics, color, etc. This assignment will be assessed according to DOCS. The possible points per category are listed as follows: Design = 4, Organization = 4, Content = 4, Style = 4.
Part 2. Instructions for Analysis memo of sample handouts:
Analyze handouts. Using the sample handouts provided(see attached file) do the following:
-Identify the best and worst handouts.
-Write a brief one-page memo explaining in detail why you chose the handouts as best and worst. Make sure you look at elements discussed in the readings such as direction, color, balance, contrast, etc. This assignment will be assessed according to DOCS. The possible points per category are listed as follows: Design = 4, Organization = 4, Content = 4, Style = 4.
Part 3. Instructions for case analysis report:
For your case analysis report, create the following visual items:
PowerPoint presentation. This presentation should be the slides you would use if you were to present the case analysis in a live presentation. The total number of slides should be between 12 and 25 and should include the following elements:
-a running agenda that appears on every slide, with the name highlighted to identify where you are in the presentation
-a balance of text and non-text slides; that is, try to keep slides with plain text lists to a minimum. Use a variety of images, art, charts, etc. to convey information.
-builds or animations that are judiciously applied to enhance the presentation and that are timed to appear when the relevant information is being discussed.
-a strong sense of an introduction and a conclusion
explanations in the Notes portion of each slide that outline what you would say at that point in the presentation
Important: Do not copy and paste charts, tables, graphs, etc., from the Internet. All charts, tables, and graphs should be your own creation. You may, however, use appropriate photos and illustrations from the Internet.
The PowerPoint presentation will be assessed according to DOCS. The possible points per category are listed as follows: Design = 10, Organization = 10, Content = 10, Style = 10.
Part 4. Instructions for one-page handout for the case analysis:
One-page handout. The handout should act as a summary of the report’s or presentation’s key points—something the executives could take away from the presentation and share with others on their management team. Follow all the design principles in Chapters 4 and 11. This assignment will be assessed according to DOCS. The possible points per category are listed as follows: Design = 4, Organization = 4, Content = 4, Style = 4.
