Grades for the Critical Analysis Paper (CAP) were sent over the weekend. Should you choose to re-write it, please consider the following:
1. You can write a narrative or number each case study.
2. There are three (3) questions that you need to respond to for each case study. I suggest (although it is not required) that each question be addressed in separate paragraphs. This way you know that each questions is being answered for each case.
ex/ Case #1 Paragraph #1 – Ethical framework that supports law enforcement action. Paragraph #2 – Ethical framework that supports that the law enforcement could have responded in a different way. Paragraph #3 – Which ethical framework do you thing best applies. Cite the text for each paragraph. Move on to the next case…
3. You do not have to agree with either position. You do have to demonstrate that you understand how an ethical framework can support each position.
4. Focus on ethics and not the law/legal issues.
5. Make sure that there is an ethical framework in each of the paragraphs. Make sure that you explain each ethical framework used in your own words and cite the text. After you explain the ethical framework, explain how it applies to the question being answered.
6. There is at least one ethical framework that applies to each situations (and each side). Stating that there is no framework to support the position/action taken is the wrong answer.
