support?
1. Who wrote the article?
– Leslie Hodges
2. Where was it published?
– Children and Youth Services Review Science Direct
3. Clearly state the issue the article addresses.
– The purpose of this article is to determine the relationship between
unemployment insurance and child support payments. Unemployment
insurance can be collected by child support agencies to make the parent
meet their obligations.
4. Identify points of view and/or values discussed (as much as possible).
– Another discussion that was brought up in this article is about other ways
of enforcement to try and get parents to comply with paying child support
such as suspending drivers license or withholding UI benefits.
5. What’s the larger issue or policy the article addresses?
– The larger issue discussed is how child support is required even from
extremely low-income families.
6. What is your personal reaction to the article?
– It is upsetting that when someone is receiving unemployment money, that
some can be taken away even though it is such a small amount. I
understand that child support is required though and in some cases,
needed but I wish there was something else the government could do to
support these children without taking from the less fortunate.
7. List any other resources you used related to this side of the topic.

unemployment. The article sought to determine the correlation between
suicide rates with unemployment.

thing mentioned is covid-19 and how it increased unemployment rates
making the assumption mental health is also in the decline.
5. What’s the larger issue or policy the article addresses?
– The larger issue at hand is mental health issues that are made worse and
even created due to unemployment and the stress that comes with it.
6. What is your personal reaction to the article?
– I really liked this article because mental health is a huge concern and I
think it was interesting to read about the correlations and numbers.
