The purpose of this worksheet is to get you out into the real world to think about the social world in a new way and to have you switch your perspective from that of a participant to that of an observer. This will give you the opportunity to make the mundane interesting and become more aware of your sense of self in the social world. This activity is adapted from The Real World: An Introduction to Sociology (7th edition) by Kerry Ferris and Jill Stein.
You must cite at least one scholarly source in your discussion of your observation experience. Refer to SNHU’s Shapiro Library APA Style basics guide for help creating APA citations. Though APA citations are included in the Supporting Resource List PDF for the final project, you may need to identify additional resources to support your work. You may also find RefWorks, a tool found in Library Resources, helpful as you work to create proper APA citations.
