This week’s assignment will be a culmination of everything you’ve worked on thus far in this course. You will be developing a teaching plan proposal. Your proposal will consist of 2 parts. The first will be a report on the work and assessments you have completed up to this point as well as providing the background for your project. The second part will describe the proposed teaching plan that you will use as an educational intervention. The teaching plan does not need to be detailed; you will develop it in the next course.
The purpose of any proposal is to secure buy-in from the stakeholders. Your proposal needs to be persuasive; keep this in mind as you write your proposal.
Compose an 8- to 10-page proposal (not including the title page, table of contents, reference page, or any appendices) that will include the following parts:
Part 1 – Background
In this part, you will need to establish the reason for the education intervention and explain the results of your assessment findings and how this informed your decisions regarding Part 2. Include the following in Part 1 of your paper:
Introduction
Background of project’s impetus
Patient population
Disease process
Problem or issue relating to the disease process
Assessment results
Literature synthesis
Current situation assessment
Patient and care team interviews
Gap analysis
Risk assessment
Cost-benefit analysis
Part 2 – Teaching plan proposal
Include the following in Part 2 of your paper:
Purpose and statement of the overall goal
Learning objectives
Content outline
Instruction method and learning activities
Instructional resources (materials/tools and equipment) needed
Teaching materials to be developed and used
Methods for evaluation of learning
Expected outcomes
Note: The expected length of the teaching plan proposal document is 8 to 10 pages, not including the title page, table of contents, reference page, and any appendices. You may incorporate some of the tools you completed into your narrative or as appendices in order to strengthen your proposal. All remaining work that you completed for your project should be included as appendices to the proposal.
Provide in-text citations and references for all sources cited.
Format your paper, including the reference page, according to APA guidelines.
