Learning Goal: I’m working on a r multi-part question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.Descriptive analysis using Twitter dataset. The target dataset is Twitter data (500 rows in total) that was collected based on key words “Coronavirus” in March 2020. The assignment is to (1) analyze the Twitter data in a descriptive way (meaning you don’t examine the relationship between two variables but rather provide in-depth understanding of the data through basic stats and visualizations) and (2) provide two statistical analysis results to show some interesting patterns (meaning the relaionships between two or more variables). By combining these two different analyses, you need to provide some interesting insight on what you can tell about the Ttweets (“insight” means something that you didn’t know by just looking at the data, but something you can tell only based on quantitative analysis). Of course, this data is a very small sample of the entire COVID-related tweets, so it’s hard to generalize the findings, but when you write a report, just assume that the given dataset is a representative of the population-level data. Load this data to a data analysis tool of your choice such as R, Python, or SPSS (you can choose whatever that works for you).
(1) Provide a descriptive analysis of the Twitter data by generating some key variables or using the existing variables. You can use basic stat analysis, visualization, NLP, or clustering analysis to describe the data in different ways.
(2) Provide two statistica analyses of your choice by making use of variables that you described in (1). Statistical analysis needs to provide results in a professional way depending on the models that you chose (e.g., p-values, confidence intervals, regression estimates on slopes and intercept, ANOVA t and F statistics, post-hoc analysis results, etc.)
Write a 3-page report that discusses what the results mean (and why it’s interesting). Feel free to look up the Twitter users’ profiles or other related resources to interpret the analyses.
Submission: submit (1) your 3-page report and (2) the analysis file(s) that you worked on (either R, Python, or other source files) through Blackboard. For (2), if there is more than one file for the analysis, compress them as a ZIP file.
Grading criteria: Did the descriptive analysis correctly provide the dimensions of Twitter data using appropriate methods and visualizations? (20)
Did the statistical analysis correctly done using two different methods? (20)
Is the interpretation of the result reasonable for understanding the dynamics of the variables that student chose? (30)
Is the report written clearly and logically, following the APA formatting? (20)
Are the source files correctly submitted so TA can open and run it on his or her computer? (10)
