Learning Goal: I’m working on a networking multi-part question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.Read the assignment carefully, and then carry out the following instructions as accurately and completely as possible.1. Using Packet Tracer, build a campus network that interconnects devices and user PCs with WIFI technology as shown in the diagram below. This diagram is also included as a standalone file that can be enlarged for detail. Ensure you include all labels and drawings shown below in your version. Individual devices do not need to be in exactly the same positions as shown, however, your network must follow the same logical layout. You will need to assign IP addresses to all of the devices that need them – use 172.20.3.x for the main subnet, and 172.20.12.x for the Campus Admin subnet. All devices should use the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.2. Provide a screenshot of your entire completed network.3. Complete the following 8 activities:Provide a screenshot of a successful ping between two hosts in the samesubnet but different buildings (using the command line interface, not thesimulation window).
Provide a screenshot of a successful ping between two hosts in differentsubnets (using the command line interface, not the simulation window). Page 1 of 4
Using the simulation window and filtering for ICMP messages only, send a ping to Server1 from any other PC. Explain what happens when the PDU reaches the library and when it leaves the server. Why does this occur
Provide a screenshot of Switch1’s switch table using its Command Line Interface. Explain why or how those entries were entered in the table and what their purpose is (the table should not be blank – if it is, send some pings between hosts and repeat the exercise).
Send a ping between two new hosts (i.e. different hosts from the previous pings). Provide a screenshot of one of the host’s ARP table. Explain why or how those entries were entered in the table and what their purpose is (the table should not be blank – if it is, repeat the exercise).
What does the orange dot near Switch1 mean, what process does this represent, and why is it used?
Provide a screenshot of one wireless access point (WAP) interface screen showing your WiFi SSID and encryption settings.
If a PDU is sent from PC12 to Printer1 it must pass through Switch3. Explain what information the switch uses to determine where to send the message to reach its destination. At this point in the process, what destination and source data is the PDU labeled with for this purpose?
4. Add a title to the top of each screenshot that describes the activity being shown. The ping and WAP screens must include some of your network diagram in the background. An example of a correct ping screen is shown below (the red circles are optional and not required).Setup Notes:Use the device types as depicted in the diagram. If something is not specifically stated then use your best judgement to achieve the result you need.
SSID’s should be set as the names listed below each wireless access point (WAP) in the diagram. Ensure your WiFi access scheme uses security (WPA2) with a different, strong password for each access point.
Always try pings several times if they are initially unsuccessful. If they continue to fail then there are almost certainly configuration mistakes somewhere in your setup. The issue is often in the IP addresses, so check them carefully. The packet tracer simulation window can also be used to debug the problem and may show you where the failure is. Remember, though, that a ping screen means entering a “ping” command in a host’s command line interface; a screenshot of the packet tracer simulation screen is not the same thing and will be deducted points.
Ensure your network is working completely (all green connections) before you take a screen shot to prove that your setup was successful.
Remember – if I cannot read your screenshots then it will not count, make sure everything is legible.
