In 2020, the world was impacted by the COVID-19 virus that rapidly became a pandemic. Health care systems were inundated with patients, and many were overrun and overwhelmed. Standards and protocols were rapidly reviewed and changed in response to protecting the patients, the staff, and the families of those being treated. Using what you have learned, as well as conducting additional research, use the following questions to guide your writing:
Provide examples of standards that are necessary post-pandemic that would be most impactful to the overall organization.
Discuss whether the standards impact the strategic/operational direction of the organization.
Describe the quality impact that may occur due to the standards.
Explain the impact of the standards on patient and customer experience.
