The different “fronts” it is asking to discuss are:

In Hurston: colorism → misogyny
In Morrison: slavery
Ageism
In Hurston: Logan, Jody, Teacake, Janie’s internalized ageism
In Gilman: fertility, demands of motherhood, husband’s midlife crisis
Domesticity
In Hurston: expectations BM had for BW
In Morrison: Sethe as mother
In Gilman: expectations middle-class WM had for WW
Ability
In Hurston: rabies!
In Morrison: PTSD
In Gilman: mental illness & gaslighting.
Different time periods (historical context)
Hurston: post-slavery, Eatonville, Harlem Renaissance, segregation, sharecropping
