Writing your SWOT
A SWOT analysis begins with a very brief discussion of your company – when did it start and what does it do.
This is followed by an identification of your company strengths and weaknesses (resident within your
company), as well as opportunities and threats (resident outside your company). These four things are
presented in a two x two matrix. Following the matrix is a discussion of each strength identified, each
weakness identified, each opportunity identified and each threat identified.
For the purposes of this project you only need to identify the most visible of each.
Your discussion should focus on why certain things are strengths or weaknesses; why certain things are
opportunities or threats. Once that is accomplished, then you can write your recommendations.
The recommendations should take each weakness and discuss how to turn the weakness either into a strength
or a neutral thing/activity. The recommendations should take each opportunity and threat and discuss how to
take advantage of them or neutralize them.
The length of your SWOT will generally be between 8 and 12 pages. You must include references and they
must be in APA style using the 7th edition
