Three questions are listed related to Medical Entomology, Applied Entomology (Insects as Pests), and Insect Conservation. You will answer 2 of the 3 questions by drawing on the knowledge of Insect Biology you learned over the semester. Do not answer all 3, only 2. There is no one correct answer. However the best answer will use terms learned in class and correct application of concepts learned in Insect Biology this semester.
For each question you should answer as if you were hired to give your expert opinion on each scenario. Your answer should be rooted in your knowledge of Insect Biology and should include elements of topics covered in our 4 course modules: 1) Physiology/Morphology/Development, 2) Taxonomy, 3) Ecology, and Entomology.
**Hint: I am leaving you clues as to how to answer each question, if you see a clue you should address it in your answer**
Give your expert opinion on what you believe is occurring in each scenario. You might not be able to solve this crisis, but you can tell me what your opinion is based on your knowledge of Insect Biology.
Address each scenario with an answer that highlights your knowledge of 1) Physiology/Morphology/Development, 2) Taxonomy, 3) Ecology, and 4) Entomology.
Use specific terms and concepts learned in class (bold these items so I can easily find them).
Answer the question as an entomologist [i.e., how would an entomologist use insect biology to approach each problem].
There is no page/word minimum for each question, rather work on producing a concise answer. A good answer shouldn’t be more than around 250 words (9-10 sentences); more or less is fine, but the point is that you should provide an informative, concise answer.
