it seem to have a central claim? If so, what is it? What seems to be
the purpose of this selection? Does it aim to inform, to explain, to
persuade, or something else? What are the primary reasons and evidence
that compose the selections line of reasoning? How does the line of
reasoning of this selection seem to compare with other genres you have
written? For example, are they the paper, the white paper, the research
paper, or anything else?
Describe what genre conventions seem to distinguish these examples of digital public writing?
Digital public writing encompasses many genres from blog posts to a
list of frequently asked questions to wikis. How would define the
specific genre of your selection?
What seem to be the values and expectations of the selection’s audience?
How do these values and expectations compare to those held by the
audiences of other types of writing you have seen in academic or
professional contexts? For instance, consider research papers, white
papers, papers, emails, and so on.
How would you describe the style of your selection? How does the sentence structure, document layout, and writerly voice compare to what we see in other types of writing?
First, you should inform your classmates of the central aim of your public writing submission. Are
you hoping to persuade your readership to take some action or accept
some belief? Are you trying to explain to your readership how something
works? Or do you have a different aim?
