I have completed my data research and was in the process of performing my analysis, and I am stuck.
Project title: Unloading Knee Brace for Pain in Medial Osteoarthritis of the Knee
PICOT: In (P) patients 18 through 65 years old who suffer from medial osteoarthritis of the knee, (I) does utilization of an unloading knee brace, (C) compared to usual care of analgesic use without the brace, (O) influence KOOS score (T) over a 4-week period.
Measurement of success: Measurement of success will be based on an increased percentage of patients who are assessed for willingness to wear a knee brace instead of using analgesics and an increase in patients who are screened via a questionnaire to assess pain, quality of life and function regarding the diagnosis of knee OA. Improvement in the KOOS score from over three on a scale of 0 (no problems) to 4 (extreme problems) to a score of below 2 will reveal an improvement post knee brace application.
I need help with my variables. The two variables I have are the KOOS scores and medication. I did a pre & post questionnaire with the KOOS, and assessed medication usage before and after brace application.
I have added the first portion of the KOOS questionnaire to my SPSS data. I don’t even know if I am doing it right at this point. I had planned on doing Chi-Square with Cramer’s V, but I believe that might not be the right test.
