In 1959, Fredrick Herzberg, the created the two-factor theory is a concept, or also known as Herzberg’s motivation hygiene theory, states that the factors that affect an individual’s satisfaction and motivation level. These determining factors are job satisfaction or affective/hygiene, and job dissatisfaction or motivational. I have heard and studied in the past about his theory, and I found it to be very interesting. Just last week I went on a few interviews, and I kept in mind some of the factors that are non-negotiable. Factors such as opportunities for advancement withing the workplace, working conditions, and of course salary all determines the satisfaction level of that organization, and helps me determine if I want to be a part of that organization as well.
