For these reasons, you are interested in finding out if having more servant leadership minded executives fosters greater workplace spirituality.
You have a hunch that an executive team that aspires towards servant leadership, fosters greater spirituality in the workplace. You are thinking of sending your top executives through servant leadership training which is costly and may be faced with resistance by some. Further, in the future, you plan to recruit individuals who have experience with and are dedicated to servant leadership. You may also want to make some policy changes to promote greater spirituality in the workplace. Since you believe in the importance of data-driven decision making, before you make any changes that may be disruptive to the organization’s culture, you conduct some secondary research via fee-based business databases to which you subscribe. You find a great study that helps to inform your problem.
Synthesizing Research Findings
You located one study, in which the researcher was trying to determine if there was a positive correlation between perceptions of organizational servant leadership and workplace spirituality among nurses working in a public hospital. The research question asks, is there a positive correlation between employee perceptions of servant leadership and workplace spirituality within the hospital? In short, does a servant-leadership-led organization have greater levels of workplace spirituality?
The study includes the following:
Hypothesis 1. There is a significant positive correlation between perception of organizational servant leadership and workplace spirituality.
Null hypothesis 1. There is no significant positive correlation between respondents’ perception of servant leadership and workplace spirituality.
