Ethical relativism (p. 63) is the theory that morality is relative to the norms of one’s culture or person. The same action may be morally right in one society or to one person, but be morally wrong in another society or to another person. There are no universal moral standards.
Write about a time from your personal or professional experience when ethical relativism impacted a decision, dispute, or other issue. What were the two views? What values were involved? Was a resolution reached? In your opinion, was the outcome fair? Do you accept this philosophical perspective’s claim that there is no way to decide what is ethically right or wrong?
