These two acts of The Proclamation Act of 1763 and The Boston Massacre were both significant. According to History, “The Proclamation of 1763 was issued by the British at the end of the French and Indian War to appease Native Americans by checking the encroachment of European settlers on their lands.” (History, 2009). This was known as the proclamation line which happened to separate the British colonies on the Atlantic coast from American Indian lands west of the Appalachian Mountains. According to USHistory, “The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a “patriot” mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, and a squad of British soldiers.”. (US History, 2022). The appearance of the troops were not welcomed. The most significant act was The Proclamtion Act of 1763 which drew lines which banned British settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. This angered the colonists which made them feel as though it was a plot to keep them under control.
The significance of the Declaration of Independence to the development of the American Revolution was that it stated that the colonists wanted to be free of the British control. It helped to unify the colonies so that they would stop fighting each other and fight together. It gave America it’s independence and that all men were created equal.
