The prompt for the final exam is found online at lessons / essays > essay information > essay 1 > essay 1 guidleines for printing. There will be very few differences between the exam and essay 1:
-The final exam will be a summary, quoting, rhetorical response of “Letter from Birmingham Jail.”
-The final exam will be shorter than essay 1, between 4-5 paragraphs. There is no page requirement and instead a paragraph requirement. Each paragraph should be between 5-7 sentences.
-It will need to be typed in MLA and will not be released on Blackboard until 7/11 at 8:00 am under lessons/essays >weekly work > final exam folder. The exam will close on 7/12 at 11:59 pm.
-The exam has to be taken in one sitting. Once you begin it, it must be completed, so do not sit down to take the test unless you are really ready to go.
-The exam will need to have a works cited page in proper MLA, so cite the piece as either a smaller work within an anthology if you are citing from the book or as a page on a website/website if you choose to use the open resource links.
-I cannot look at rough drafts of the exam as I can the other papers in the class, and neither can the REAL Center or ILC.
-Be sure to use proper MLA style. Many of you are still doing MLA incorrectly, and I am going to be candid that by the end of the semester, if you violate MLA format, you will lose anywhere between 1-20 points (depending on the severity of the errors). If you do not know how to do MLA, go to Blackboard and click course resources > MLA template and use my fill in the blank template.
-Final grades on the exams will likely be posted by midnight on 7/13.
