In your position paper evaluate either two different global marketing strategies from one organization in two different global markets or two different global marketing strategies from two different organizations in the same industry in the same global market (country). These firms should be using different strategies and compete with each other. (Note same industry could be things like the consumer electronics industry; the health care industry; the packaged goods industry; etc. just make sure both firms are from the same industry or compete with each other )
You should not use the firm’s domestic or national strategy as Keegan describes it on page 12. I am only looking for what a firm does in other countries. Keegan (8th edition) writes a bit about Global Target Market Strategy at the end of chapter 7 but provides an example of how to assess strategy at the beginning of chapter 9, figure 9.1 and in the section titled Strategy defined. What I am looking for (when you describe the marketing strategy) is something similar to the IKEA example using the Habrick and Fredrickson elements, just expand with more detail that what is in the book and be specific about the target market for each firm in each country.
The paper should include the following:
Provide an introduction identifying the two global strategies you will be comparing and a thesis stating which strategy you think is more successful (2 points)
Provide a detailed description of one of the two global marketing strategies; and why you think that strategy is successful based on specific marketing principles, based on tools learned in modules I assignment 1 and 2 and the marketing mix specific for a target market’s buying behavior. – do not show me the tools but what you think are the outcomes from the application of those tools and how it relates to the firm’s marketing strategy(5 points)
Provide a detailed description of one of the other marketing strategy; and why you think that strategy is successful or not successful based on specific marketing principles, based on tools learned in modules I, assignment 1 and 2 and the marketing mix specific for a target market ‘s buying behavior do not show me the tools but what you think are the outcomes from the application of those tools and how it relates to the firm’s marketing strategy (5 points)
Describe why you think that one strategy is better than the other strategy and provide a counter argument of why not.(5 points)
Conclusion, highlighting lessons learned.(3 points)
