Challenge 2 PLEASE USE PUBLIX AND KROGER AS THE COMPARISON SUBJECTS. YOU CAN UTILIZE MEMPHIS TENNESSEE and NASHVILLE TENNESSEE AS THE LOCATIONS FOR COMPARISON. MY INITIALS ARE EP.
You may not be able to complete this assignment on a Mac.
For this project, you create a 3D map for a worksheet. You will compare any two items of your choice. You must collect data for a minimum of 10 different counties or towns in a minimum of two different adjoining states. Use an internet search to find the number of items that you are counting for your counties or towns. You will want to count something that has more than one location in your geographic area. Select counties or towns far enough apart for your graph to be appealing.
Examples of items to compare: Wal-Mart and Target OR Kroger and Publix OR McDonalds and Burger King. Any two items you want to compare.
Read the complete instructions before you begin your internet search.

Create and save a workbook as [your initials]Challenge2.
Your workbook and tour must be visually appealing.
An example of creating a 3D map and tour is found in Chapter 9 in your text.
Modify your workbook according to the following guidelines:
Create a descriptive title in Row 1. Center this over your data.
Enter labels in cells A2:D2 for State, County/Town, Item1, Item2. Make the labels descriptive.
In cell A3, type the two-letter abbreviation for your state. Do this for all 10 data points in column A.
In column B. type the names of your 10 counties/towns with the correct state.
Fill in values in columns C and D for the number of items you selected that are in each county/town.
Format the data as an Excel table and sort by state and then by city name. Table, column sort will not work.
Build a 3D map. The Location is Town or County and State. Use the descriptor that matches your County or Town.
If the map displays an outlier location, it is because 3D Maps needs additional data to locate the town/county. Substitute another county/town and refresh the data.
Name the Tour.
Create a minimum of 5 scenes. Your scenes should show:
Create Scene using the Item1 data. Arrange the map to illustrate the data well. Again, use descriptive names. Use the sum function to display Item1. The height is your Item1.
Add a Scene to show the Item2 data. Arrange the map to illustrate the data well. Again, use descriptive names. Use the sum function to display Item2. The height is Item2.
Add a Scene using a filter to show the data in only one state. The height should be both Item1 and Item2. Use a clustered column data style so you have two columns of data for each city/county. You are displaying one state with both of your items being shown in one scene.
Add two scenes of your choice for your Tour opening and closing. You must have a minimum of five scenes in the Tour.
Create a video of your tour to share in Discussion Challenge 2. Your video file will be a .mp4 format. Using Add Attachment, under the post box, upload the video file to the discussion post. This is so your classmates can see and appreciate your work.
Using Scene Options, meet the following minimum criteria for each scene: scene duration <=4 seconds and transition <=2 seconds
Your scenes should show your columns in visually pleasing manner and meet all the criteria stated earlier.
