Graduate Assistant – Office of Global Engagement
The Graduate Assistant will be reporting to the Director of Global Engagement. This is a part-time position working up to 20 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists in all matters related to F1 students’ support and services
• Provides strong organizational skills in following up potential, pending and accepted international students.
• Collaborate with SEVIS Coordinator about accessing Elements/CAMS for acceptance letters and/or status updates from students inquiring about application for admissions.
• Maintains database related to F1 (employment, 1-20 issued, ISO related invitation, etc.)
• For F1 recruitment, assist the Director of OGE in all her initiatives and utilize digital fluency in making sure the Rivier University is promoted well through in person, and/or virtual platforms.
• Regular postings of Rivier and OGE related events to promote cultural events, diverse programs, and more through FB, Instagram, WhatsApp and WeChat.
• Provides a welcoming reception to all walks-in(staff ,faculty, students) and maintain the OGE Services Log efficiently daily in excel.
• Direct and/or advise domestic students to specific OGE advisor for assistance with study abroad and/or global learning opportunities.
• Monitors the OGE’s general inbox, print and/or forward all SEVIS related reporting to SEVIS Coordinator. Important routine tasks to continue compliance with SEVIS regulations.
• Monitors the Office of Engagement calendar of events and inform OGE staff (ISSA) for publishing on Rivier’s website.
• Assist in updating OGE’s social media outlets: Facebook, Instagram, Tweeter and the OGE website.
• Perform other job-related administrative duties as assigned by the OGE Director and team.
• Mentors and/or Assist all Student Workers and Intern at OGE
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, written and oral communication skills.
• Dependable and able to use good judgment, perform job with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skill and ability to multi-task
• Digital fluency (social media outlets, including blogs, and posting on different platforms increasing Rivier’s presence across the world.
• Sensitive to the needs of all students, faculty, and staff
• Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Web page management application)
• Strong academic record in graduate studies and leadership potential
• English language proficiency
• Maintains confidentiality, FERPA
• Currently enrolled graduate student (MUST NOT BE GRADUATING BEFORE May 15, 2023).
