What excites me the most about this course is that I believe it will truly provide me with some useful fundamentals which will help me become a successful leader in my career. I ultimately see myself working in product management alongside engineers and others roles to ensure our team delivers successful products that satisfy the needs of our users. Though I believe this course would be useful to anyone hoping to work with others, I believe this course will be especially useful for my career because the success of my team will significantly depend on my ability to adapt to change quickly in order to stay ahead of trends and lead them.
The ability to change and quickly adapt is a crucial part of being a successful business leader. Maxwell states that “The future seems to be coming at us faster than ever. To go forward, we need to move faster. And as leaders, we need to stay ahead, we need to see more than others, and we need to see before others. The more nimble, adaptable, and flexible we are, the more quickly we can move and change.” In other words, with our environment changing at such a fast paste, if you don’t maintain the ability to stay ahead of change, you’ll fall behind as leaders. As a product manager, one of the various skills includes being able to be ahead of the trends that are constantly changing. With practice and research, I continuously teach myself what will be the next trend in the business and tech world in order to change my thinking skills. This practice will not only aid me in being a successful product manager but also help me identify some user needs before an issue arises.
