In this assignment you will use persuasion to create a package that you could present at an interview for your dream job. In a 1000-1500 word wirtten paper:
1. Define what your dream job is. Describe what the job entails and who you would be interviewing for. For example if you want to work at a large company you might interview for the PR manager. If you want to represent musicians, you might be presenting for an artist you want to work for. Remember that knowing your audience is very important when you design your messages.
2. Describe the qualities and experience you have that make you the best candidate for this position. How can you present those not just by “telling” but more so by “doing”? For example, you can say you are a very creative person, but it is much more appealing if you show your client a campaign you designed (even if it was only done for a class).
3. Include 3 applications. You only need to turn in the design. So, you don’t need to actually post something on social media or print a coffe cup. You just need to turn in the design (like you did the billboard in a previous assignment). Thoroughly describe how you will use the concepts learned in class to create three applications.
Application 1
A social media application for two different platforms. For example, a post that represents you in TikTok and one on Instagram (you can pick any 2 social media platforms). The posts should reflect what you are highlighting about yourself to the client. Think about what posts you could show your potential employer or client that will make them want to hire you.
Application 2
A business card. Again, how can something as small as a business card be used to persuade someone? Think about the details.
Application 3
A promotional item. Everyone has received one at some point; a pen, a cup, a tote bag… What promotional item could you give your potential employer/client that will make them think of you when they make a decision? How does that artifact work in your argument?
