This assignment contains the details of the apartment floor plan. The assignment itself is not timed as you have the entire week to work on your AutoCAD drawing. However, this link provided to submit your work will not be available past the due date.

This assignment covers the topic of layers which is aligned with course outcome #2: Use multiple layers effectively and appropriately.
Your task is to use AutoCAD software to recreate the drawing in the attached PDF. Settings for this drawing are as follows:
Units: Architectural
Grid spacing 6″
Snap spacing 1 1/2″
1.Create the following layers with the line weights indicated. Use distinct colors for each layer. Colors can be of your own choice.
Walls – line weight 0.35mm
Windows-doors – line weight 0.25mm
Furniture – line weight 0.18mm
Text – line weight 0.2mm
Outer walls are 6″ thick and inner walls are 4 1/2″ thick – this means the double lines representing the walls are spaced 6″ and 4 1/2″ respectively.
2.Where a dimension is not explicitly stated, read off the grid visually. Grid lines are at 6″ spacing and anything you draw will have dimensions in 1 1/2″ increments, in accordance with the snap settings.
3.The drawing must be reproduced in its entirety. You do not have to add the dimensions to the drawing but will refer to them in order to make your own drawing.
4.Start by drawing the outer rectangular frame. Its lower left-hand corner is at 0′-0″,0′-0″. The dimensions are 34′-0″x44′-0″. The inside left corner of the floor plan (top left corner of living room) itself can be located at the point of (3′-0″, 41′-0″). Only lines and circles are used to draw the floorplan.
5.Please save the file name with the following naming convention: Lastname_Floorplan.dwg and upload it to this link before the due date.
