Learning Goal: I’m working on a history discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.a-Did the New Deal have a positive or negative impact on the United States? (250-300 words)b- respond to two (2) other classmates. Let’s have a lively discussion! (100 words each)Alyssa The new deal had a positive effect on the people of America by creating new jobs, gaining trust in bank systems, and getting freedom from the effects of the Great Depression. The new deal was responsible for some powerful and important accomplishments. It put people back to work, saved capitalism, and it restored faith in the American economic system, while at the same time it revived a sense of hope in the American people. Those at the bottom end of society had no faith in Hoover and the new president gave them exactly this – faith and hope. Here was a president doing something for them. Economic statistics also provide a clue as to whether the New Deal was a success or not. I belive the new deal was a big help in Americans. The new deal allowed many people to find jobs and get help from the government. The new deal was a success because of relief, recovery, and reformKianOverall, I find that many of the New Deal programs that were put into place were ok short-term solutions for the pressing problems at the time, but many were not viable for the long term or very efficient. The Civilian Conservation Corps is a good example of one of the programs that were quite effective and didn’t have many problems. It helped increase the infrastructure and care of our national parks while providing for the needs of the people it employed, which has had a positive long-term effect due to many projects they worked on still being used to this day. Then there were other programs like the agriculture adjustment act that actively destroyed food surplus that could have helped many people in the country who were starving. Overall, the new deal seems like it was coming from a place of good intentions, but they were often implemented poorly. So yes, while not perfect, I do think that the new deal did have a positive effect on the United States. It at least helped carry everyone over into WW2, which is what truly helped end the great depression.I would love to hear what people disagree/agree with
