BIBLE STUDY: MAIN POINT(S) AND SUMMARY ASSIGNMENT INSTRUCTIONS

OVERVIEW
The student will prepare a Bible Study on a passage in Acts that is personally meaningful. The
student will identify the selected passage, offer a brief explanation of why it was selected, and
then prepare a study intended to teach others about the passage.
INSTRUCTIONS
The Bible Study Assignment will be completed in five stages. In this second stage, students will
identify the main point(s) of the passage and summarize the content of the passage. This
assignment should build throughout the course, therefore, students should include the page from
stage one and begin this assignment on a second page.
To identify the main point, be sure to consider authorial intent. The main point(s) of the passage
is what the original author intended to communicate to the original audience. Students are
encouraged to use course resources, commentaries, and study Bibles as they consider this
assignment.
Once you have identified the main point(s), please include a succinct summary of the passage.
The summary should communicate the main point and demonstrate how the remainder of the
passage supports, explains, or contributes to the main point. The summary should not be longer
than the passage. Please use the following template for your work.
There is no word count for this assignment, as each passage selected will vary in length.
