The first step of the tender process is to select a contract that meets the business’ policies for work as well as the conditions for participation (licensing and qualification scope the business can meet). Businesses may have existing policies and procedures for the selection of tender contracts, these must be considered first, along with any financial policies that may impact tender selection decisions. In order to effectively manage time it is important to only apply
for contracts that the business can manage. Applying for a tender is not unlike applying for employment. The job that a business applies for must be appropriate to that business’ skills and experience.
