Task:

This task requires you to develop, critically analyse and evaluate a strategy/model of intervention based on one of the scenarios provided using a casework and/or case management approach.

Develop a strategy/model of intervention based on one of the scenarios provided (see ATTACHMENT). In doing so you will need to:
1. Draw on the Rothman and Sager model (1998, p. 25, attached) or Moore (Ed.) (2009) which can be used to inform a casework or a case management approach
2. Identify and describe the nature and scope of the practice context involved
3. Identify the relevant approach that you will use, that is, casework/case management, or both and why (Refer Hepworth et al.,2013, pp 35-44) – for an example of the stages of the ‘helping process’ regarding direct casework)
4. Articulate the underpinning principles guiding your intervention plan/strategy
5. Review the literature review undertaken in Assessment One and if necessary research more on the context and the issues involved, identifying some of the key challenges in working within this context. Within the report, you are expected to make links to the goal of the intervention plan/strategy.

On completion of this task, you should be able to:
1. Describe the utilisation of casework and case management in service delivery and their implications for social work and human services policy, practice and intervention
2. Demonstrate critical knowledge of theoretical frameworks, the major features, principles, functions, processes and roles of casework and case management practice and systems relevant to diverse contexts
3. Apply casework and case management processes and skills to service delivery situations and
4. Critically analyse and evaluate the major issues and dilemmas, including ethical issues, involved in the design
and implementation of casework and case management practice or systems
